Melanie Miller to continue tenure at Meadows Parkway Early Childhood as new principal

Meadows Parkway Early Childhood Center will be led by new principal Melanie Miller for the 2026-27 school year. 

Miller began her career at Meadows Parkway where she has spent the past six years serving as a special education teacher. In addition to her work in the classroom, she has served in several leadership roles, including on the District Professional Development Committee, and was named the school’s Teacher of the Year for the 2021-22 school year. 

A Lindenwood University alumna, Miller received both a bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and a master’s in Educational Administration. 

Miller said being named Meadows Parkway’s principal feels like “both an exciting new chapter and a beautiful continuation of my journey here.”

“Meadows Parkway isn’t just a school; it’s a community of educators who have truly become family, and it is an honor to serve them and our students in this new capacity,” Miller said. “This school year, my focus is on deepening our commitment to meeting students exactly where they are by getting to know the whole child and adapting our teachings to their needs. Our school’s greatest strength is seeing the potential in every single child, and I am incredibly proud to lead that mission forward.”

Miller replaces Mary Calkins who retired after dedicating 32 years to the Francis Howell School District.
